One of many reasons not to take weight loss drugs…

I am not a fan of medications at all. I don’t believe in miracle cures, magic potions, or quick fixes. So I always view drugs that are supposed to help people lose weight with a critical – some would say cynical – eye. But very rarely do I see a medication that can actually increase the chances that a person would commit suicide!

The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) says the weight loss drug Accomplia, which has also been shown to help smokers quit, should not be used by patients who are severely depressed or taking anti-depressants as it heightens the risk of suicide among this group.

If you’re on antidepressants, please stay far, far away from Accomplia!
