Difference since last entry:
You know, I am positive that I did another journal entry between now and October 17th. Absolutely positive. And yet I don’t see it in the list. Strange. Bizzare. Weird. Where did it go?
The same could also be said about my motivation to exercise. I had been going along fine, working out at least three times a week. Then I took a week off, due to a minor bout with the flu. And since then, I have not been able to get motivated again. I’ve worked out maybe 6 times this month. Maybe not even that many times. And when I look at the calendar and see that it is currently the 22nd of November, I can only shake my head. What happened?
Of course, the big difference between now and then is school. When Erin and I joined the “Y,” I was on the break between classes. Because of the way the schedule was laid out, that left me with basically three weeks of no homework. Which, of course, meant I had plenty of time to work out.
Once November started, however, my class started to. I had to face the reality of going to school 4 hours a night and fitting in 10-15 hours of homework a week. Add that to my 40-hour work weeks, and you can see that I started to run out of time during the day.
The obvious solution to this problem would be for me to work out before I go to work. That would mean getting out of bed around 5:30am. Unfortunately, this has been relatively hard for me to do, too. But that I cannot blame on anything but laziness. And lack of motivation.
So my goal for this coming week is to get back into the habit of working out three times a week. I don’t care if I am motivated or not. I need to find some way to drag myself into the “Y” at least three times this next week. I’ll have ample opportunity because of my work schedule through the holiday week.
