WOOHOO! I cannot tell you how much relief I feel to finally see my weight moving in the right direction. I had been slowly gaining weight for a while now; to see this trend reverse is very nice indeed.
But what is more important to me than what the scale shows is the changes that I have made in my habits to get to this point. I must first admit that my new job has at least some things to do with my success. I only have 30 minutes for lunch now, which means it is practically impossible to go out for lunch. I have to bring my food with me. And I am doing a really good job of bringing only healthy foods (thanks in large part to my fiancee) to eat.
The structure of my workday also helps me avoid the snacking that I have a bad habit of falling into. I work for a two hour block, then take a 15 minute break. Then I work another two hour block, and take lunch. Another two hour block, then another 15 minute break. This segments my day nicely, giving me a nice waiting period between times that I can eat. By the time that my last break rolls around, I am feeling nice and full, and don’t have the desire to eat.
I feel really optimistic about what the next few months hold for me. I am positive that I’ll be able to keep up this positive momentum. Come back soon to see if I am right or not! 🙂
